Ebony has over 8 years of experience working with children and families. Ebony is passionate about empowering her clients despite their unpredictable circumstances. She has experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, PTSD, self-esteem, depression, behavioral & mental health concerns, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Suicidal Ideation, grief, and severe trauma. Ebony utilizes the following treatment modalities; Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Art Therapy & Play Therapy. Ebony enjoys helping families heal by pushing through the negative stigma of seeking mental health services and breaking unhealthy generational patterns. Harriet is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who received her Masters of Art in Marriage and Family Therapy/Art Therapy from Notre Dame de Namur University in 2019. Harriet aims to help children and teens overcome their obstacles and support them in their journey towards personal growth. She believes that art is a bridge that can help people communicate when words have failed and can be a reflection of who they are and who they want to be. And if you’re not an art person, that’s okay! Every client has their own unique needs, experiences and goals. She believes in honoring the dignity and sacredness of each person and embraces the gift of diversity. Harriet has been trained in Art Therapy, Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy, play therapy and mindfulness. She takes a strength based, person centered approach and uses patience and creativity to help her clients develop a trusting and meaningful relationship while working together to develop new skills to help her client’s reach their goals and improve their over all well being.

Emily is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of California. Emily obtained her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Specialization with a focus on trauma and children from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Emily gained her clinical experience, initially working with adults with severe mental illness in Chicago, and moved towards her passion working with children, teens and families for the last five years in community mental healthcare as well as in school settings. Emily has worked extensively with parent-child relational dynamics, communication, structure, parenting-child interactions, and overall family systems to provide families the ability to increase attunement, contentment and functioning. Emily has worked with the following diagnosis and disorders including: ADHD, anxiety, depressive disorders, trauma disorders, PTSD, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, anger, life span development changes, psychosis, self injury, and suicidal clients. Emily utilizes an integrative approach using the following:CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, Play Therapy, Family Systems, Attachment Therapy, TF-CBT, psychoeducation, and Bibliotherapy. Callie has been working in the mental health field for the last 7 years. She utilizes evidence based practices in treatment such as: Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical  Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Client Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy to build rapport, collaborate on treatment goals, learn and practice healthy coping skills, and reduce negative thoughts patterns. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma professional and has extensive training in trauma informed care. She is also a Certified Telemental Health Professional and has acquired training to provide safe and secure Telehealth services. She has experience working with children in schools and adolescents in group home settings. She has experience effectively treating both mental health concerns and substance use problems. She has worked in intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) providing group therapy as well. Callie is eager to work with individuals carrying mental health symptoms such as: psychosis, anxiety, depression, substance use, and trauma. Callie joined Grow Through Life Counseling in 2020 and enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families.

Adriana Covarrubias is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. She has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California with a concentration in mental health and a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology and Development from Universidad Anáhuac, Mexico City. She has many years of experience working with families and teenagers in school settings and extra curricular activities in Spain, New England and Mexico. Adriana has a compassionate, authentic and down to earth approach to therapy, meeting clients where they are at. Her approach to therapy is person-centered and strength based. Adriana has experience in trauma informed care, grief and loss, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychotherapy, motivational interviewing along with other evidence-based practices. Adriana is looking to build strong therapeutic relationships with her clients in a non-judgmental and safe space, so as to help clients navigate life’s stressors and walk with them through the healing process. She’s bilingual and offers services in English and Spanish.

Gertrudis graduated from SDSU in 2010 and obtained a M.S. in Counseling. Gertrudis has gained experience working with families, youth and children.  She has worked with grief and loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and ADHD as well as other behavioral concerns. Gertrudis implements Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused-CBT, Solution Focused Therapy and Play Therapy approaches to restore functioning and overall wellbeing.  Gertrudis has invaluable experience facilitating evidenced based practices in positive parenting to families with a history of referrals to Child Welfare services. By facilitating family therapy and positive parenting, Gertrudis has developed the essential skills of being supportive, empathetic and culturally sensitive with the focus in helping families to achieve their goals. She is a bilingual speaker in both Spanish and English.

She believes in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and she is able to display a great level of empathy.  She holds a solid commitment to the social and emotional growth of individuals. Cristina promotes the client centered approach and enjoys applying different techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy and Mindfulness. She specializes in working with children and youth dealing with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, life stressor, parental relationship,  low self-esteem and trauma. Ambar uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a Solution Focused base approach in treatment.  She believes in creating a safe, non-judgmental environment that will allow growth and improved behavioral/mental health. Ambar’s work in the South Bay has allowed her to develop an understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and families. Amber is bilingual and offers services in English and Spanish.
