Melissa "Mely" Quiroz, APCC

Mely earned their Master of Science degree in Multicultural Counseling from San Diego State University. Mely is bilingual and can provide therapy in both English and Spanish. Mely enjoys working with youth who need support in all areas including: depression, anxiety and especially enjoys helping youth and families navigate challenges of dealing with ADHD. Mely’s work with LGBTQI+ transitional age youth and severely mentally ill adults inside local community clinics have strengthened their experience and expanded their knowledge. They focus on connecting with clients with compassion and an open-mind and use a strengths-based approach to help clients develop and strengthen coping skills when managing depression, anxiety and ADHD. Mely integrates a multicultural lens by considering the various identities of a client and how the intersecting identities shape the client’s experience in the world and in therapy. Mely is non-binary/trans-masculine, and uses they/them pronouns. Mely is easy to connect with and brings a warmth to the care they provide. They have specialized experience in LGBTQI+ affirming therapy and gender affirming therapy which creates a safe space for exploration and self-discovery. Mely joined the team at Grow Through Life Counseling in 2020 to serve children, teens and families in the Chula Vista and surrounding areas. Mely offers services in both in person (with COVID precautions) or via Telehealth at this time.
Amanda Moore, APCC

Amanda Moore is an associate clinical counselor passionate about supporting children, teens, and families. She received her masters degree with a concentration in Early Childhood Mental Health from San Diego State University. Amanda is client centered, grounded in attachment theory, and has a large training in play-based modalities. Amanda is currently taking courses to be registered as a play therapist. Amanda uses play therapy to help her client’s express their needs and help resolve their challenges. Amanda’s work includes helping children and teens that need assistance with anxiety, coping skills, managing ADHD, school-based issues, special needs, challenging behaviors, self-esteem, anger management, and trauma. She has spent many years as a preschool teacher and is aware of the social expectations many children are currently facing. With a large background in creative movement, she believes in the power of a multi-sensory approach. She loves to use imagination, dance, and music as a way to engage and help enhance social/emotional development. Amanda is friendly, down-to-earth and loves to bring fun and playfulness into her sessions. Treating the therapy room as a safe space where the client can fully express themselves. Amanda looks forward to supporting your child, teen, and family.

Inez is an associate marriage and family therapist registered in the state of California. She received her masters degree from Alliant International University. Inez has gained experience in outpatient clinics working with teens, transitional aged youth, families, couples, and adults. Inez is grounded in attachment theory with experience and training in evidence based practices such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and EFT. Inez is easy to talk to, empathetic, client centered, trauma informed, and passionate with helping her clients gain insight and skills to overcome their challenges.

Emily is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of California. Emily obtained her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Specialization with a focus on trauma and children from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Emily gained her clinical experience, initially working with adults with severe mental illness in Chicago, and moved towards her passion working with children, teens and families for the last five years in community mental healthcare as well as in school settings. Emily has worked extensively with parent-child relational dynamics, communication, structure, parenting-child interactions, and overall family systems to provide families the ability to increase attunement, contentment and functioning. Emily has worked with the following diagnosis and disorders including: ADHD, anxiety, depressive disorders, trauma disorders, PTSD, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, anger, life span development changes, psychosis, self injury, and suicidal clients. Nadia is a Bilingual- Spanish speaking Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has lived in the South Bay for over 30 years. Nadia graduated with her Master’s in Social Work from San Diego State University. She is a dedicated social worker, who has over 15 years’ experience working with individuals, families, and children in various capacities including trauma, mental illness, life transitions, relationship instability, grief and loss, substance abuse, justice involved, and developmental disabilities. Nadia uses a strengths-based, client centered approach in treatment and focuses utilizing optimal psychosocial care to address life’s challenges, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and other mental health symptoms that may cause distress in your life. Her treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Brief therapy. Additionally, she utilizes distress tolerance skills to assist in regulating client’s emotions. Nadia strongly believes in creating a safe space for clients without judgement. Callie has been working in the mental health field for the last 7 years. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma professional and has extensive training in trauma informed care. She is also a Certified Telemental Health Professional and has acquired training to provide safe and secure Telehealth services. Matti is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California. She received her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University. With a history of working as an elementary school teacher, with youth and families involved in the juvenile justice system, and with youth in PHP and IOP care Matti has experience both in short and long term care. Matti believes in a trauma informed approach and has been certified as a Brief Strategic Family Therapist, and is currently being trained in EMDR with a focus on trauma. She has a passion for working with families and improving their relationships with each other through communication. Matti specializes in family work, abuse, trauma, substance abuse, feelings of sadness, working with adolescents and children, and has personal experience with the military community.
