Veronica Villalobos, APCC

I believe that every person has the potential to achieve their dreams, and I am dedicated to helping them get there. I am a caring, passionate, and solution-focused therapist that has helped countless individuals overcome challenges that drive their well-being. My compassionate and understanding nature allows me to create a safe and supportive environment for my clients to open up and explore their feelings and experiences. I have a particular passion for working with kids and teens with disabilities, the LGBTQ+ community, and transition-aged young adults, and have extensive experience with these populations. In addition to my experience, I have also completed advanced courses in a variety of areas, such as play therapy, multicultural competence, and lifespan development. I use a combination of techniques and approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and goal-oriented therapy, to help my clients make lasting changes and achieve their goals. Whether you are struggling with mental or behavioral issues, looking to improve your relationships, or trying to achieve personal growth, I am here to support you. Together, we will work to create a personalized plan to help you reach your goals and lead an authentic and more fulfilling life.

Miriah Bozeman, ASW 

Associate Clinical Social Worker Supervised by Erica McDaniel, LCSW 

Miriah’s clinical work experience includes providing mental health services to a variety of clients including young children, pre-teens, adolescents, college students, adults, families, and couples. Miriah is culturally competent in assisting clients in reaching their goals. Miriah has experience working with varying populations: military, military spouses and children, veterans, high-risk youth, elderly, and adolescents in both community and school settings. Miriah has worked with clients having difficulties with various mood disorders such as: Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, and Chemical Dependency. Miriah empowers clients by behavioral change, maintaining healthy relationships, coping with life stressors and promoting positive personal development. Miriah uses various treatment modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (RBT), Strength-Based Approach, Anger Management, and Conflict Resolution to best meet the needs of her clients. Miriah is originally from Alabama and has lived in various geographical locations and cultures. Miriah obtained her bachelor’s degree in Sociology at California State University, Fresno, and her Master of Social Work at Temple University both with high honors. Miriah is an associate social worker supervised by Erica McDaniel, LCSW.

Rachael Fitz, AMFT

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist Supervised by Callie Reece, LMFT

Rachael is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, who received her Master of Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She has worked with children in the mental health field for several years in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She utilizes a person-centered approach when working with children in order to meet them developmentally where they are at. Rachael is passionate about working with youth and their caregivers and utilizing mental health treatment to help them thrive. She has several areas of clinical interest, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, and reactions to traumatic stress. Rachael utilizes both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy approaches to therapy. Rachael joined Grow Through Life Counseling in 2023.

Isabelle Mirasol, AMFT

Isabelle is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who has been working with youth and families for over ten years with 2.5 of those years in the mental health field. Isabelle has experience working with youth in school, home, inpatient, and outpatient settings as well as with adults with co-occurring conditions (substance use and mental health) in an outpatient program. She has worked with individuals with a broad range of mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, life stressors, low self-esteem,grief, trauma, and so forth. Isabelle believes in creating a safe space to develop an authentic and strong therapeutic relationship. Isabelle provides a non-judgmental, strengths-based, client-centered approach to empower her clients to grow and develop new skills while improving their overall wellbeing. She utilizes evidence-based practices, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and keeps a trauma-informed and cultural lens in working with each unique individual client. Isabelle received her Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Child Development at San Diego State University and her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology San Diego campus. She joined Grow Through Life Counseling in 2022 to support the south San Diego and Chula Vista communities.

Rachel Carney, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Rachel is passionate about providing therapeutic services to empower you to improve your life. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. She has been working with families, individuals, and couples throughout her career in schools and communities, in the home, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), as well as outpatient telehealth services. Through providing clinical therapy services, Rachel has had many successes by supporting children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples to make positive changes. She has experience addressing a wide variety of mental health diagnoses and behavioral difficulties such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, self harming behaviors, suicidal ideation, aggressive behaviors, lack of motivation, just to name a few. She will encourage you to identify your own goals and make progress towards these goals. She has a special interest in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which guides people to identify and alter negative thoughts to improve mood and foster positive behaviors. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is utilized to teach mindfulness techniques, communication skills, and how to enjoy the little things in life. Rachel provides a non-judgmental, person centered, solution focused approach which she knows will foster a positive therapeutic relationship and make it possible to grow. Rachel joined Grow Through Life Counseling on our Eastlake team in 2021.

Trudy Kammerer, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Trudy has been providing the San Diego community with mental health services for more than 7 years to help build happy and healthy individuals and their families! She has provided individual, family, and couples counseling to promote mental health recovery. Trudy utilizes evidence based interventions including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Social Skills Training, Strength Based Approach, Person-Centered Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. She is a trained professional which has worked with clients having difficulties with Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Schizophrenia, Substance Abuse and various addictions.


Harriet Esquivel, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist 

Harriet is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who received her Masters of Art in Marriage and Family Therapy/Art Therapy from Notre Dame de Namur University in 2019. Harriet aims to help children and teens overcome their obstacles and support them in their journey towards personal growth. She believes that art is a bridge that can help people communicate when words have failed and can be a reflection of who they are and who they want to be. And if you’re not an art person, that’s okay! Every client has their own unique needs, experiences and goals. She believes in honoring the dignity and sacredness of each person and embraces the gift of diversity. Harriet has been trained in Art Therapy, Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy, play therapy and mindfulness. She takes a strength based, person centered approach and uses patience and creativity to help her clients develop a trusting and meaningful relationship while working together to develop new skills to help her client’s reach their goals and improve their over all well being.

Brooke Lopez, ASW

Associate Clinical Social Worker. Supervised by Callie Reece, LMFT

Brooke is a passionate therapist who genuinely values learning and process of change. She has experience working in schools (elementary, middle and high school), in-home crisis intervention and stabilization and with the juvenile probation population. She emphasizes authenticity, the power of unconditional positive regard and intentionality. She uses evidence-based practices with cultural humility and a trauma-informed lens to address depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, adjustment concerns, parenting concerns and substance use issues. Brooke believes that growth and healing takes a different path for everyone and is interested in finding that path in collaboration with clients. Brooke uses an eclectic approach in treatment and is trained in the following modalities: Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Play therapy, Narrative therapy, Structural therapy, Systemic therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). Brooke received her training as a Masters in Social Work in 2018 and is currently an Associate Clinical Social Worker. Brooke joined Grow Through Life Counseling in 2021.


Callie Reece, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Supervisor

Callie is a licensed marriage and family therapist born and raised in San Diego. Callie has been working in the mental health field for the last 9 years. She has completed Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) training and has extensive training in trauma informed care. She has acquired training to provide safe and secure Telehealth services. She has experience working with children in school settings. She has worked with adolescents in a group home setting.  She has provided assertive community treatment to high risk, severe and persistent members with mental health diagnosis and substance use. She has worked in intensive outpatient treatment settings providing group therapy to the individuals with severe mental health symptoms. Callie began her journey with Grow Through Life Counseling in 2020.  Callie enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families to reduce stigma of receiving mental health services, manage symptoms of anxiety and depression, and improve life balance. Callie is eager to work with individuals carrying mental health symptoms such as: trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, and psychosis. Callie utilizes evidence based practices in treatment such as: Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical  Behavioral Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy to build rapport, collaborate on treatment goals, learn and practice healthy coping skills, and reduce negative thoughts patterns.
