Rachel Bibee, LCSW

Rachel is passionate about providing therapeutic services to empower you to improve your life. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. She has been working with families, individuals, and couples throughout her career in schools and communities, in the home, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), as well as outpatient telehealth services. Through providing clinical therapy services, Rachel has had many successes by supporting children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples to make positive changes. She has experience addressing a wide variety of mental health diagnoses and behavioral difficulties such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, self harming behaviors, suicidal ideation, aggressive behaviors, lack of motivation, just to name a few. She will encourage you to identify your own goals and make progress towards these goals. She has a special interest in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which guides people to identify and alter negative thoughts to improve mood and foster positive behaviors. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is utilized to teach mindfulness techniques, communication skills, and how to enjoy the little things in life. Rachel provides a non-judgmental, person centered, solution focused approach which she knows will foster a positive therapeutic relationship and make it possible to grow. Rachel joined Grow Through Life Counseling on our Eastlake team in 2021.
Brooke Lopez, ASW
Associate Social Worker supervised by Ambar Lopez-Barnes, LMFT
Brooke is a passionate therapist who genuinely values learning and process of change. She has experience working in schools (elementary, middle and high school), in-home crisis intervention and stabilization and with the juvenile probation population. She emphasizes authenticity, the power of unconditional positive regard and intentionality. She uses evidence-based practices with cultural humility and a trauma-informed lens to address depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, adjustment concerns, parenting concerns and substance use issues. Brooke believes that growth and healing takes a different path for everyone and is interested in finding that path in collaboration with clients. Brooke uses an eclectic approach in treatment and is trained in the following modalities: Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Play therapy, Narrative therapy, Structural therapy, Systemic therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). Brooke received her training as a Masters in Social Work in 2018 and is currently an Associate Clinical Social Worker. Brooke joined Grow Through Life Counseling in 2021.
Alison Filipski, APCC

Alison is a self esteem expert and helps pre teens, tweens and teens develop a core sense of self, identity and confidence! She also has expertise in navigating negative social media experiences. These times are so confusing and yet adolescents having positive influences is extremely critical, this year even more so! She has worked with clients experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, trauma, anger management, conduct/adjustment issues, suicidal ideation, familial disputes, questions regarding sexual/gender identity, and youth with special needs. She is empathetic, compassionate, multiculturally competent, and trauma informed in her practice. Alison implements a strengths-based Client-Centered approach while utilizing a variety of evidence-based methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, Play Therapy, and adapts treatment to each client based on their specific needs. Alison has a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling & School Counseling from the University of San Diego. In the past five years, she has provided mental health services to diverse populations, including individual and group therapy to children, teens, and families in an assortment of locations including in-home and school-based settings.

Harriet is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who received her Masters of Art in Marriage and Family Therapy/Art Therapy from Notre Dame de Namur University in 2019. Harriet aims to help children and teens overcome their obstacles and support them in their journey towards personal growth. She believes that art is a bridge that can help people communicate when words have failed and can be a reflection of who they are and who they want to be. And if you’re not an art person, that’s okay! Every client has their own unique needs, experiences and goals. She believes in honoring the dignity and sacredness of each person and embraces the gift of diversity. Harriet has been trained in Art Therapy, Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy, play therapy and mindfulness. She takes a strength based, person centered approach and uses patience and creativity to help her clients develop a trusting and meaningful relationship while working together to develop new skills to help her client’s reach their goals and improve their over all well being.

Trudy has been providing the San Diego community with mental health services for more than 7 years to help build happy and healthy individuals and their families! She has provided individual, family, and couples counseling to promote mental health recovery. Trudy utilizes evidence based interventions including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Social Skills Training, Strength Based Approach, Person-Centered Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. She is a trained professional which has worked with clients having difficulties with Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Schizophrenia, Substance Abuse and various addictions.
Callie Reece, LMFT

Callie has been working in the mental health field for the last 7 years. She utilizes evidence based practices in treatment such as: Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Client Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy to build rapport, collaborate on treatment goals, learn and practice healthy coping skills, and reduce negative thoughts patterns. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma professional and has extensive training in trauma informed care. She is also a Certified Telemental Health Professional and has acquired training to provide safe and secure Telehealth services. She has experience working with children in schools and adolescents in group home settings. She has experience effectively treating both mental health concerns and substance use problems. She has worked in intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) providing group therapy as well. Callie is eager to work with individuals carrying mental health symptoms such as: psychosis, anxiety, depression, substance use, and trauma. Callie joined Grow Through Life Counseling in 2020 and enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families.

Adriana Covarrubias is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. She has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California with a concentration in mental health and a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology and Development from Universidad Anáhuac, Mexico City. She has many years of experience working with families and teenagers in school settings and extra curricular activities in Spain, New England and Mexico. Adriana has a compassionate, authentic and down to earth approach to therapy, meeting clients where they are at. Her approach to therapy is person-centered and strength based. Adriana has experience in trauma informed care, grief and loss, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychotherapy, motivational interviewing along with other evidence-based practices. Adriana is looking to build strong therapeutic relationships with her clients in a non-judgmental and safe space, so as to help clients navigate life’s stressors and walk with them through the healing process. Gertrudis graduated from SDSU in 2010 and obtained a M.S. in Counseling. Gertrudis has gained experience working with families, youth and children. She has worked with grief and loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and ADHD as well as other behavioral concerns. Gertrudis implements Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused-CBT, Solution Focused Therapy and Play Therapy approaches to restore functioning and overall wellbeing. Gertrudis has invaluable experience facilitating evidenced based practices in positive parenting to families with a history of referrals to Child Welfare services. By facilitating family therapy and positive parenting, Gertrudis has developed the essential skills of being supportive, empathetic and culturally sensitive with the focus in helping families to achieve their goals. She is a bilingual speaker in both Spanish and English.

Cristina has been in the field for the past 8 years. Cristina is compassionate and enjoys working with families specializing in children and adolescents. She has collaborated with the Juvenile Justice Department as well as the local School Districts. She has also implemented Elementary based prevention and intervention programs. She believes in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and she is able to display a great level of empathy. She holds a solid commitment to the social and emotional growth of individuals. Cristina promotes the client centered approach and enjoys applying different techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy and Mindfulness. She is bilingual and offers therapy in both English and Spanish.

Ambar has been in practice for over 12 years. Ambar has clinical experience working with children, teens and their families in an outpatient setting. Ambar take a client-centered based approach and incorporates the individual’s strengths into the therapeutic experience. She specializes in working with children and youth dealing with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, life stressor, parental relationship, low self-esteem and trauma. Ambar uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a Solution Focused base approach in treatment. She believes in creating a safe, non-judgmental environment that will allow growth and improved behavioral/mental health. Ambar’s work in the South Bay has allowed her to develop an understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and families. Amber is bilingual and offers services in English and Spanish.
