Meet James, a sensitive and thoughtful therapist working with adults, children, families, and couples. James establishes a safe and affirming space for his clientele, tailoring sessions to address his clients’ diverse needs. He invites his clients to explore their own unique journey and fosters support through navigating life’s challenges in a self-compassionate and healing manner. James earned his Master’s Degree in Counseling with Specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. He has experience working with topics such as grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, identity development, LGBTQ+, men’s mental health, relationship infidelity, divorce and separation, co-parenting, and communication development. James has been trained in interventions from several therapeutic models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Gottman Theory, Attachment Theory and Family Systems Theory. James is also committed to a social justice and multicultural therapy approach affirming all people.

Rachael is an AMFT with experience working with people of all ages. She received both her Bachelor's in Psychology followed by her Master's in Clinical Counseling from Point Loma Nazarene University. Rachael utilizes a warm, person-centered approach to support her clients through whatever life throws their way. She has experience working with clients seeking help for depression, anxiety, grief, anger management, abuse, and trauma. She views clients through a lens rooted in attachment theory while drawing upon active interventions in CBT to spark understanding and spur change in her clients. Rachael firmly believes that therapy should be a collaborative process between the therapist and the client which is why she empowers them to set goals that will impact their everyday lives.
Glen Hilton, LMFT
Clinical Supervisor, Leader & Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist 112981
Glen Hilton, LMFT has over 15 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families overcome a range of mental health and relationship issues. Including previous volunteer experience, he has been serving youth since 2002. He received his master’s degree in psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University. Glen’s approach primarily combines elements of Collaborative Therapy and Narrative Therapy, both of which center on clients’ expertise and strengths. Using these approaches, he will collaborate with clients to co-create solutions that empower each participant to have voice and self-agency. Glen is also skilled with other therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy, and will incorporate these approaches when needed for greater effectiveness. Glen joined Grow Through Life Counseling in 2023 as a clinical leader and supervisor in Sorrento Valley.
