How to prepare a Child to Start Therapy

Starting therapy can be intimidating for an adult and even more so for a child. I often get the question: What should I tell my child? from parents who call to schedule and assessment appointment. You can tell your child a counselor is a special person who will listen to feelings and help solve problems. Also, parents take their children to therapy because they love them very much and want them to have healthy coping skills and to feel better all the time. We know the earlier the intervention, the better outcome. If you are concerned your child needs help, please get them started with a trusted provider.
