Top 5 Signs of Depression In Teenagers

Depression is a common mental health condition that can affect people of all ages, including teenagers. It is important to be aware of the signs of depression in teenagers so that you can help them get the help they need.

Here are the top 5 signs of depression in teenagers:

  1. Changes in mood. Teenagers with depression may experience changes in their mood, such as feeling sad, hopeless, or empty. They may also have difficulty feeling happy or enjoying activities they used to enjoy.

  2. Changes in behavior. Teenagers with depression may experience changes in their behavior, such as withdrawing from friends and family, losing interest in activities they used to enjoy, or changes in sleep or eating habits.

  3. Changes in thinking. Teenagers with depression may experience changes in their thinking, such as having negative thoughts about themselves or the future, or having difficulty concentrating or making decisions.

  4. Changes in physical health. Teenagers with depression may experience changes in their physical health, such as headaches, stomachaches, or fatigue. They may also have changes in their appetite or weight.

  5. Suicidal thoughts or behaviors. Teenagers with depression are at an increased risk for suicidal thoughts or behaviors. If you are concerned that a teenager you know may be suicidal, please seek help immediately.

If you notice any of these signs in a teenager you know, please talk to them about it. Let them know that you are there for them and that you want to help. You can also encourage them to talk to a trusted adult, such as a parent, teacher, or counselor.
