Welcome Amber Curry, ASW

Amber has over a decade of experience supporting youth, teens and families in a variety of settings: nonprofits, hospitals, Peace Corps, inpatient facilities and most recently Child Welfare Services. She aims to help children and families utilize techniques for better communication and an overall positive wellbeing. She empowers all individuals to manage their anxiety and depression with crisis stabilization, psychoeducation, family collaboration and mindfulness. Thus, resulting in more effective interactions. She has a strength based, person centered approach. She understands every person has their own unique needs and goals. She works together with individuals and families to create a safe space for supporting growth and providing tools to confidently navigate tough obstacles. Her passion for this field stems from seeing family members dedicate their lives to working in helping professions. A commitment to making change and supporting people was a family value and she wanted to do the same. Amber holds a Master’s in Social Work from California State University San Marcos a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Criminology from the University of New Mexico. Amber joined Grow Through Life Counseling in 2021 to support more teens and families in the community. Amber is accepting new clients in our Chula Vista location and supervised by Ambar Lopez Barnes, LMFT
