Welcome Jamilah Stanfield, AMFT!

Jamilah enjoys helping clients to understand their own choices and/or traumas while also seeking ways to improve their lives or heal. Jamilah uses a person-centered, client-based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused approaches in therapy. She has diverse counseling families, couples and individuals in both group-home settings and private practice. Some of the areas she has helped with are: grief, divorce, creating boundaries, setting personal/professional goals, parenting, depression, and military lifestyle changes.

Jamilah is a Navy wife, a mother, worked as a stay-at-home-mom, has been employed in clinical environments, and has also homeschooled her children. Due to personally surviving the challenges presented with the unpredictability that comes from being a part of a military family, Jamilah is passionate about helping all clients grow through various hardships. She strongly believes that there is hope for every client who begins therapy. Jamilah earned a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from San Diego State University in 2006. Jamilah joined the Grow Through Life Counseling team in 2023, and is excited to be a part of a practice whose desire is to assist clients grow in healthy ways.
