Neurodivergent & ADHD

At Grow Through Life Counseling, we are passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals—including those with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Whether you're a parent seeking help for your child or an adult navigating symptoms yourself, our team offers empathetic, research-based care designed to meet you where you are.

We understand how frustrating it can be to feel misunderstood, especially when ADHD symptoms are minimized or mislabeled. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive space to explore those challenges and build skills for lasting success.

What is ADHD?

ADHD is a common neurodevelopmental disorder that impacts attention, self-regulation, and executive functioning. It’s more than occasional distraction—it can interfere with daily life at school, work, and in relationships.

Symptoms may include:

  • Inattention: Difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, disorganization

  • Hyperactivity: Restlessness, fidgeting, difficulty sitting still

  • Impulsivity: Interrupting, acting without thinking, trouble waiting

  • Emotional dysregulation: Mood swings, low frustration tolerance, outbursts

In children and teens, ADHD may show up as:

  • Academic struggles

  • Trouble with friendships or social skills

  • Behavioral concerns at school or home

In adults, ADHD can present as:

  • Chronic lateness or disorganization

  • Job instability

  • Challenges in relationships

  • Difficulty focusing or completing tasks

Our Approach

We tailor our treatment plans based on each client’s needs and strengths. Our therapists often use:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Strengths-based approaches to build confidence and motivation

  • Executive functioning coaching to help with time management and planning

  • Play therapy and behavioral strategies for younger children

  • Parenting support and collaboration with schools when needed

Not all ADHD looks the same. Some individuals experience more inattentive symptoms without hyperactivity, which can lead to delayed diagnosis or misunderstanding—especially in girls and women. We’re here to listen, validate, and support you with tools that work.

When to Seek Help

If you or your child is experiencing persistent symptoms that interfere with daily life—whether it’s focus, frustration, motivation, or emotional regulation—therapy can help.
